First-time appliance repair customers often ask what an actual service visit looks like. Reasonable question. Here's what to expect when we show up at your door anywhere across the Bay Area, start to finish.
1. Confirmation call before we leave
About 30–45 minutes before the appointment we call to confirm we're on the way and give a tighter ETA. If you need to push the visit later in the day, that's the moment to tell us.
2. The walk-in
Shoe covers go on at the door. The technician will introduce himself, ask about the symptoms, and want to hear the unit run if that's possible. Knowing exactly what you've heard, smelled, or seen makes the diagnostic faster.
3. The diagnostic
This is what the $85 service fee covers. We open the unit, measure with a meter where appropriate, and identify the failed component. Most diagnostics take 15–30 minutes. On the way we'll explain what we're seeing — most customers want to know what broke and why.
4. The quote
Before any work happens, you get a firm price for the repair — parts, labor, and tax included. No surprise add-ons at the end. If you say no, you owe the $85 service fee and we shake hands. If you say yes, the $85 is rolled into the repair bill — the diagnostic is effectively free.
5. The fix
About 80% of repairs are completed on the first visit because we carry the most common parts on the truck (heating elements, drain pumps, door switches, thermal fuses, igniters, etc.). For less-common parts we order from a local supplier and come back — usually within 1–2 days. There's no extra trip charge for the second visit; the labor is included.
6. The test
Before we leave we run the unit through a real cycle and confirm the symptom is gone. This catches weird intermittent problems before they become "I have to call you back tomorrow."
7. The receipt and warranty
You get an itemized receipt covering parts, labor, tax, and the warranty terms: 3 months on both parts AND labor. If the same fault returns within that window, we come back and fix it at no charge.
That's it. Most visits end up being 60–90 minutes from knock to handshake. If you've never used us before, the same workflow applies whether you're in Mountain View, Palo Alto, Sunnyvale, or anywhere across the Peninsula. We do repair across 13 appliance categories — fridges, washers, dryers, ovens, dishwashers, AC, furnaces, and more.
